Calming Meditation for Overcoming Overwhelm

Enter a space of peace and clarity within.
The Meditation
Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, and gently close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in through your nose, hold for a moment, and slowly exhale through your mouth.
Let each breath guide you toward a state of calm. Inhale deeply, exhale slowly. Repeat this a few times, letting your breath slow down your thoughts.
Now, bring your awareness to the feeling of overwhelm. Notice where it sits in your body.
Where is it?
Does it feel like tightness in your chest, a knot in your stomach, or tension in your head or neck?
Whatever you're feeling, simply acknowledge it without judgment.
With each inhale, imagine yourself drawing in fresh, calm energy. With each exhale, release a little bit of that overwhelm. Let it flow out of you with your breath, like clouds dispersing in the sky.
Now, visualize yourself standing in the middle of a storm. Winds are swirling around you, and things feel chaotic. It’s a representation of the overwhelm you’ve been feeling.
But as you focus on your breath, imagine a quiet blanket of peace forming around you. Inside this blanket, everything is calm and still, even as the storm rages outside. Inside, you are safe, grounded, and in control.
Feel the peace this blanket and moment carries, and feel how u have settled.
Whenever you feel overwhelmed, you can return to this place of peace within. Your breath is your anchor, always available to guide you back to calm.
Take a final deep breath in, and as you exhale, let go of any remaining tension. Slowly begin to open your eyes, carrying this sense of inner peace with you.
