Caterpillar
Have you ever had visitations or sightings of sweet little green caterpillars? Always traversing alone, the caterpillar catapults its body, from its little hind legs, to its frontal feet.
Caterpillars, like other earth creatures, have messages for us if we are willing to listen. All you need to do is observe its movements and ways of being. They can tell us that big things happen by taking little steps, one, at a time, hat you will get there and that progress is relative and always happening - so long as you take the steps. Part of their message is that working in balance and harmony is key, as well as acknowledging that things happen in stages and phases, and that there is an underlying purpose behind all things and each experience. |
Many of us are in the caterpillar stage of our journey. We are no longer the infantile pupa, and we have taken many paths to date - yet for many, we have yet to experience or break out of the chyrsallis - or perhaps we are just starting to evolve or emerge.
Nevertheless, whatever part of the journey we are on, we are constantly moving in one way or another, and on our good days we trust in the process, take the steps, and prepare to develop our wings so we can fly radiantly in our truth and be free.

We acknowledge that we too are in a life cycle just like the butterfly, and we each have our own life path to sojourn. Those of us who take the time to contemplate life and our purpose for being here on earth are aware of the metamorphosis we have already gone through, or it may be that we have experienced various stages of growth and are now seeking or working towards a more profound and enduring transformation.
There are so many more analogies I could make with the butterfly, and perhaps one day I shall write more, however for now, if you could take a moment to reflect on what stage of the butterfly's cycle you are in, and make a little vow to yourself to get out into nature, stop and 'smell the roses,' and heighten all your senses to enjoy the peace, serenity, sacred beauty and mysterious workings of the universe pulsing all around you. You needn't look far to experience it.

I recall a praying mantis being in my room when I was a teenager. I befriended it as it felt like a trusted companion, an insect ally. It felt so special and I could feel the connection and meaning. It's presence, meaning and energy felt similar to that of daddy long legs spiders.
I knew it had more meaning than just being a mere insect in my room. It hadn't lost its way, more so it had followed its rhythms and the natural calling to be where it was ad guide me. I watched it move so slowly and felt its calming energy. It kept me company for days and weeks until I learned what I needed to, gained whatever insight, and it was then ready to move on. |
