Buddha
The Story of Buddha
Guatama Buddha was born in the 6th century BC in what is now called Nepal. His family were very wealthy and he lived an extravagant lifestyle. Of his own will, after witnessing the suffering of the people in the 'outside world', he set out to find true meaning, and left his luxury home and its material comforts at the age of 29.
The name "Buddha" is said to mean: 'one who is awake.' He was one of the 'enlightened ones,' known for his great wisdom, having reached enlightenment at the age of 35, while sitting under a Bodhi tree, after 6 years of seeking answers.

The Spiritual Wisdom of BuddhaAs a great spiritual teacher or sage, Buddha mastered a deep understanding of the importance of the present moment, peace of mind and maintaining a balance in life.
Here are some Buddha quotation examples of his spiritual wisdom: "Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth." In other words, the truth will always be revealed. |
Buddha spoke a lot about the value of being in the present moment:
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."
He is also known to have spoken very wisely about the power and importance of the mind and our thoughts and how that affects and actuates our reality. He reminds us to really watch what we think and that we are each responsible for our own thoughts, as at the end of the day, thoughts are energy:
"The mind is everything. What you think you become."
Overall, Buddha is about peace - something that every conscious human in higher essence wants to attain.
"Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace."
This quote also shows that we don't have to fill every gap in every conversation with empty words - or blurt out things mindlessly - often less is more, and speaks for itself.
