'Lightworker' is a term used to describe people who feel a natural affinity with Spirit and a profound, innate urge to share and shed love and light to others. They are kind, compassionate and caring souls with a natural disposition to help people and earth.

They might feel that they have a 'calling' (even if they don't exactly understand it) and a deep sense of having a 'mission' in life. They feel compelled to discover and unfold their own individual destiny and life purpose.

Profound Sense of Sacred Mission

People are 'waking up' all around the world with the sense that they have gifts to share and spiritual work to do on this planet. Lightworkers naturally step into the role of raising the consciousness and frequency of the planet and humanity. This greater or specific purpose is something that would have been worked out in the soul contract on the other side before their human incarnation.

A key word for lightworkers is 'service', for they feel compelled to be of service to humanity and the world in some way, and they often act selflessly and place other people before themselves, which can consequently cause great personal stress and suffering.

Anyone can be a Lightworker

Any person that is acting in a loving and giving way is coming from a place of pure unconditional love, and thus living and breathing through the essence of God.

A lightworker works from their heart by giving that loving gift of unconditional love and service to earth and humanity that they feel urged to do, from the very core of their being, and it is a ripple effect from there.

The Term 'Lightworker'

We do not need to get caught up on the term 'lightworker', or feel like it is an exclusive label. While being a lightworker might include underground or behind the scenes work and feel like no one understands or gets you, it is far from an elite 'secret club'. Anyone is a lightworker if they are contributing love and light to the world in whatever way, shape or form. It is a very natural process. They need not be aware of or even accept the term.

However those who resonate with the terminology recognize it as a kind of validation of what they feel deep inside, and what might otherwise not be acknowledged, accepted or seen from the outside world. It rings a bell for them and makes them feel that much more like they belong in this world, as that can otherwise be one of their biggest challenges due to their deep sensitivity and feeling of being 'different.

Many times a lightworker might keep that label & concept a secret, or share it only upon careful discernment. Most level headed people realize how crazy it can sound. They just go about doing their work quietly, and often behind the scenes.

Sharing Your Light as a Lightworker

As many lightworkers have chosen a very difficult, challenging and often lonesome path, they can find life on earth extremely difficult. Additionally, they are most likely very sensitive souls who have gone through much suffering not only in this lifetime, but in former past lives too.

Many lightworkers are also 'old souls' who have been around the block. They are willing to metaphorically get their hands dirty and get right to their soul's work despite difficulties.

Just like many Saints and Masters were Martyrs who endured profound challenges, so too do many lightworkers in their private lives. And there is a connection between the two.

Waking Up as Earth Energy Shifts

It is by no coincidence that people around the world are waking up with an instinctual sense that change is in the air, and the inner knowing that they have a greater purpose and mission upon Earth.

Lightworkers are on our planet during this amazing period of spiritual transformation and rebirth (read about earth's energy shifts here). The shifts are happening and we are starting to remember who we really are, Divine beings of Love and Light. And we are not alone.

So lightworkers are anywhere and everywhere. They are healers, writers, teachers, counsellors, environmental or charity workers, or even the lady at the checkout of the local grocery store who makes you smile and feel connected to the world, through one pleasant interaction.

They are sprouting all over the globe like seeds of light. You can only imagine what that view looks like from the angel's higher perspective!

Lightworkers feel a deep inner knowing and unmistakable sense of calling that they have a sacred, global mission upon earth, and are compelled to make a difference in the world. They have an overwhelming desire to help people and Mother Earth . They sincerely feel compelled to play their part in bringing about truth, justice, peace, harmony, acceptance and oneness.

They are generally caring, open, compassionate and non-judgemental people with a variety of gifts and individual purposes.

Sensitivity to Energy

Lightworkers are very immersed with their life purpose, and due to their often empathic sensitivities, can be greatly affected by not only other people’s energies, but also the world’s, including news events, weather, and earth changes.

They have a very heightened sense of awareness on many levels, like an inner and outer radar, and are extremely intuitive and spiritually oriented. They require a lot of self care and spiritual grounding, centering, psychic protection and spiritual healing.

Other terms you might hear and relate to are starseed, indigo, crystal, empath, sensitive, earthangel or way-shower.

What Lightworkers Need to Know
