Have You Been Through a Spiritual Depression?
You may have to stop yourself for a moment and ask yourself what that really means for you personally. For me, it is like having a 'melancholic soul,' being in a spiritual fog or state of transcendental despair. You may or may not have that core inner faith, where no matter how gloomy you may be, you are aware on some level of that eternal flame burning deep within you, in the caverns of your soul. However, you may feel empty, depleted, forlorn, lost or bare.
Perhaps you are even feeling some of these things in your life right now. You may have even a 'drug' of some sort, whether that be physical, mental, or emotional that fuels critical or perhaps self-sabotaging behaviour.

Perhaps the same sort of person, situation or drama is re-occurring in your life. Your perceived 'damage' does not seem to go away. It seems to follow and haunt you, trap you, suffocate you. Like a noxious shadow. An endless plague. Consumed are you by its infestation. Engulfed and frozen are you in its parasitic overwhelm.
And it shadows you in this lifetime and the next, as it has trailed you before. It keeps on creeping up on you, sometimes by an inexplicable psychosomatic 'welcome' invitation, at other times by a complete surprise, until you 'get it'!
The true enlightened Master of this pestilent scourge learns to notice it, catch it, nip it in its infant bud as soon as even a whiff of it arises. An awakened soul recognizes its lesson, thanks it, and lets it go.

"I fell into a horrid hole.
A very deep, relentless
hole.
Whereas for some,
they may not see
The light and
faith
inside of me.
Atleast though, in
all my
pain,
unwaiveringly I had a luminous flame,
burning, soldiering,
smouldering forth.
Even if at times weak,
even when clouded or
low or dim,
It was there, no matter what,
however large or
small.
Perhaps you are one that feels
that no flame burns at
all,
or that it is wilted,
stilted
burned out or
disappeared.
But that is not the case my
friend
close your
eyes
and envision it so,
in the deep deep caverns of
your
hungry soul.
For therein lies an everlasting flame
forever
burning, whole and fine
It is a sign of your immortal truth
A fire
within
that lights your soul."
