The Truth About Multi-Tasking

I know that many of us women especially, THRIVE with PRIDE at our extraordinary modern capabilities of MULTI TASKING. But I am sorry to tell you. the TRUTH is OUT.
I won't get too much into the nitty gritty of the science of it, but put basically, scientists have now discovered that not only has it been proven to be surprisingly less productive because you are 'task - switching' rather than 'multi - tasking', but it also has shown that it has ill effects on ones health. It completely over stresses the nerves. The stress hormone cortisol increases in production, as well as our adrenaline. So your fight or flight responses are over heightened as your brain is on hyper alert, looking for an endless look of frenetic external stimulation.
Neuro scientists have discovered that the result of this is mental fogginess as well as scrambled thinking. You can see how this would be the case, cant you, when you really look at it.

On top of this, in today's modern technological age, we have info overload. It is pure mania.
So thinking that multi-tasking is beneficial and productive is not only an illusion, but a delusion, leading to an exhausted and disoriented brain, cognitive confusion, stress, anxiety and ultimately even aggressive or impulsive behavior. This all impacts your ability to make decisions and cognitively function coherently - your neural response energy is in overload and on the road to meltdown and burn out.
So thinking that multi-tasking is beneficial and productive is not only an illusion, but a delusion, leading to an exhausted and disoriented brain, cognitive confusion, stress, anxiety and ultimately even aggressive or impulsive behavior. This all impacts your ability to make decisions and cognitively function coherently - your neural response energy is in overload and on the road to meltdown and burn out.

Add to this our over stimulated impulses and need to respond to constantly appearing and processing text messages, emails, alerts, notifications and so on. We are completely overwhelmed and working in OVER DRIVE.
The advice I give to you, is to think about what changes you need to make in your life in regard to technology and the way that you exert energy in the worlds of work, home and other.

From a HIGHER spiritual perspective (which is how I always like to see things), IT WAS NOT MEANT TO BE THIS WAY.
When you RISE ABOVE this world of ILLUSION, the people and forces which represent the darker energy of fear, control, power and greed, WANT us to be in overload. They want us to be OVER BUSY. They want us to be DISTRACTED (hello TV, football, mainstream media, pop music). They want us to be in FEAR B(hello controlled news media, hello world chaos, hello terrorism, hello mass shootings), and they want us to remain DULL, BLINDED, NUMBED and ENSLAVED. Okay so these are big words, I realize, but unfortunately that is the REALITY. And I want you to become more open and awake to it.
When you RISE ABOVE this world of ILLUSION, the people and forces which represent the darker energy of fear, control, power and greed, WANT us to be in overload. They want us to be OVER BUSY. They want us to be DISTRACTED (hello TV, football, mainstream media, pop music). They want us to be in FEAR B(hello controlled news media, hello world chaos, hello terrorism, hello mass shootings), and they want us to remain DULL, BLINDED, NUMBED and ENSLAVED. Okay so these are big words, I realize, but unfortunately that is the REALITY. And I want you to become more open and awake to it.

So what can you do today, to minimize the chaos? Give yourself the gift of turning off your phone, disabling notifications, and / or ______ (fill in the blank).
I know that life is busy, but that's also what makes it the perfect time to stop, drop and let go of something. Come back to you and your breath. If you can dedicate 5 or 10 minutes a day MINIMAL, just for YOU, NO MATTER WHAT, then I will be happy for the recognition you have made, and the realization that it is a sacrifice which is ONE STEP towards a greater connection with your SOUL. So dedicate yourself today, in taking a step.
