Everything has a spirit, and we are all connected. That includes living things such as animals, insects, trees and plants, weather systems, as well as ordinary inanimate objects.

We need to understand that the spiritual and physical worlds are always interacting and intertwining. Everything is interconnected.
You can see this in the presentation of signs through nature or animals.
This was intrinsically and intuitively understood by our ancient forebears and native people such as the Australian Aboriginals or Native Americans, for example.
Animism
There is actually a term for this belief: 'animism'.
The crux of this concept is that everything is energy and as such, possesses a 'spiritual essence.'
Here is an interpretation of what animism means:

There are nature spirits. Every part of nature from the tinniest pebble to the tallest tree or mountain has its own vibration and spirit - it is bursting with chi - that universal life force energy that connects us all. Many ancient cultures and shamanistic traditions very much embrace this knowledge.
