Let me break down these three distinct areas for you from my perspective as a psychic, energy healer and spiritual teacher:
1. Spiritual Growth Expansion
Spiritual growth and development can encapsulate spiritually moving forward on your personal timeline, gaining more spiritual or metaphysical knowledge, greater soul connection and an expansive feeling of becoming one with Divinity, for everyone is connected in the unified field.

Spiritual ProgressionYou spiritually expand when you go through periods of spiritual growth and advancement. This is when you progress another notch on your spiritual belt. You feel free, progressive and empowered, and like you are on a higher timeline and opening up to another level. It is a feeling of an upgrade and stepping into your higher version self. At the very least, you are at the beginning of a new doorway of potential shift and reset.

There is a profound sense of advancement and moving forward and an enhanced feeling of change and transformation.
Spiritual Knowledge
When you go through periods of enhanced spiritual growth, you naturally gain more awareness and knowledge, for awareness is also the first step to change. You might also learn some tools and techniques to help you along your path as a spiritual being, an old soul in a human body.
This feels naturally like expansion because it is like wisdom has unlocked within yourself and the world is your spiritual oyster.
You feel more open to truth, in touch with universal wisdom and there is a greater connection between yourself and the greater universe. It becomes easier to tap into knowledge and find answers through your heightened connection, and synchronistic interweaving between you and the higher power.

You expand more fully into unity consciousness, which is a powerful, palpable, profound sense that everything is one.
You have a sense of you as a microcosm in an expansive, quantum way that encompasses everything. In other words you become at one with the all, the macrocosm or unified field. There is a grand sense of oneness. |

Greater Soul Connection
Spiritual growth and expansion generate a sense of deep knowing, contentedness and soul connection. This expanded self growth is grand and all embracing. You feel truer and tapped into your fullest expression of self (your higher version self) and true potential.
Spiritual growth can be analogized with a tree expanding its branches and leaves to their fullest levels. They are big and expansive and reach out closer to the cosmos and soak. The whole tree soaks in the healing rays of the sun. The sun, in return is an analogy of God Source energy.
In this process, we feel more connected to our soul and true Divine origins, and the innate knowing that spiritual growth is a cyclical, evolutionary process that transcends time, space and dimensions.

Intuitive expansion is when you become more intuitive or consciously aware on a spiritual level. You grow in your understanding of yourself, others andt he universe.
We have to remember that intuition is natural and innately embedded in our human DNA and physical body as well as energy system. Just like animals are instinctual soul beings, we are too. On top of this, we can go through periods of heightened intuitive expansion, especially in this day and age of advanced spiritual awakening. |

Heightened Self Awareness
Experiencing a sense of heightened self-awareness is where you open yourself up and expand your consciousness outwards. The effects of this is that your intuitive and self-awareness naturally grows, as through the process of entrainment and the law of attraction, your higher self is meeting you where your energy is at.
You connect with Spirit in different ways and feel an intuitive connection with yourself, nature and the celestial realms. You might feel aligned with universal energy and feel like you are receiving signs, messages and downloads.

In terms of increased intuition, this can be manifested in many ways. You might receive psychic hits or impressions about people, messages through your higher mind, empathy or energetic body system opening up more, or psychic words, phrases, images, symbols or frequencies through nature, signs and synchronicities or downloads directly from Source.

3. Energetic ExpansionWhen you advance on your spiritual path and energy awareness, you start to realize that you are so much larger and greater than you could ever imagine. You step into this truth and have an innate awareness that you can be much bigger, brighter and expansive than you think you are.
Expansion versus ContractionWhen you are expansive energetically you are wide, clear and free. Your energy feels open, out there and large.

You feel super clear energetically, mentally and emotionally, and when you shine bright, you are large and in your fullest potential. You are able to radiate your light far and wide like a brilliant shining, powerful lighthouse, and you are a much more effective guide for those in the darkness.
Your vibe is nice, high, safe and welcoming. People feel comfortable, peaceful and secure in your energy space. Your light and frequency have the power to heighten their own thoughts, feelings and energy. There is a feeling of upliftment and amplification. It is a positive ripple effect.

Contraction is the opposite of this. When you are contracted, you feel small, tight and shriveled. It encompasses a feeling of being stuck, trapped and contained in a negative or uncomfortable way. When you shrink, you feel small, restricted and your light dims.
It is a lower vibe.
As an empath, energy sensitive or young child, you especially don't like to be around contracted people. You might feel squashed, less than and potentially irritated or repelled in the energy space of a contracted person. Their lower frequency can cause yours to drop down, and if you do not protect yourself or shake off that energy, you entrain to the denser energy and can also become a negative magnet just like them.
It is a lower vibe.

How Does it Feel to Expand Your Energy?
When your energy is expanded you feel more of a sense of open space where there is room to breathe. As an energy healer I know this feeling very well. It feels free, clear, uplifting and fantastic. Your aura is so wide open, your frequency so high, your vessel so clean, that it is like there is no gap, no space between you and the celestial realm. It is a true feeling of oneness.
Your aura, your soul essence, has the capacity and capability to spread far and wide way further than you could ever possibly imagine.

The first step to releasing your sense of contraction is noticing that you are. This is the awareness stage. From there, you can work to loosen up your body and all that tight energy and then create a space for energy to break free and then flow more healthily.
