Introduction
In this episode/article, I talk about connecting back, coming back, to your spiritual self. You may have done so more in the past, or even never at all, or you ebb and flow in and out of this connection. So take a moment to lean in.
I take a deeper dive into the concept of spirituality in terms of what it means to connect with your spiritual self and be in that state of being. I discuss all the positive benefits, and how it nourishes and enriches your inner landscape and brings Spirit, or the spiritual realms into you, in a way that is grounded and aligned.
You have gotten to where you are, and what a brilliant job you have done surviving this earth plane, but you are most probably parched and thirsty for more – something higher, deeper, and more resounding.
Is it time for you to cultivate a deeper connection with your inner self, connect with or restore your sense of spirituality to live a more fulfilling, purposeful and spiritually rich life, even if you otherwise feel bereft?

The NowBefore we get into the future of where you want to go spiritually, we need to be in the now, connect back with ourselves in the now, and acknowledge the past and your journey leading up to this very moment in time, in this lifetime, and many past. Even if that is just a moment’s salute to yourself.
How connected are you to your spirituality? Are you in your autopilot self, or your spiritual self? Or somewhere in between? |
|
Do you vacillate between the two?
Are you feeling bombed with tasks, responsibilities and other people that keep you too busy, misaligned and out of your spiritual integrity or routine?
Maybe you feel like your lower self is stuck in the trenches, unbudging, unyielding to the yearns of your soul and heart.
It is probably time to come back to yourself, for you have potentially lost your ‘self’, or parts of you, in the up and down mountain climb or battle of your life.
Or are you deep in your mind, or emotions, and lost in it all?
Or, maybe you are a seasoned seeker, satistfied, curious or seeking more. What I always say is, awareness is always the first step and the answer to it all. And keeping an open mind.
I have a freebie to help you go deeper into Connecting with Your Spiritual Self, more details at the end of the episode.

The Benefits & Positive Effects of Spiritual Connection
Lets have a look now at the positive effects of being more connected to your spiritual self, and how being in that state feels.
Firstly, we need to all keep in mind, that there needs to be no perfect. We are all human souls with many modern demands on us and varying energies constantly coming our way, so we are not aiming here to be a monk on the mountain. We can and do slip in and out of our spiritual selves very easily.
However the key in all of this is that the more that you move into a more spiritual way of being, the more it will naturally happen – and the more that it becomes your natural default.
And that is what I am here to help you realise, if that deeply resonates with you.

Spirituality Takes You Deeper
Spirituality takes you deeper, and as a conscious soul, deeper is where you want to be. And ‘deep’ does not mean having to feel all your stuff that you are ignoring and burying deep inside every second. Deep means that you are moving your consciousness into the depth of you, a large inner well that needs to be replenished and restored. For maybe yours is dirty, dry or running on empty. Or maybe you did not even know that inner well was there.
"The spiritual life does not remove us from the world but leads us deeper into it." - Henri Nouwen
And that is true. Spirituality is not about escaping the world or ignoring its problems, or spiritual bypassing, but rather coming back to you. Really coming back to you. You know there have been moments in your life where you have felt that for yourself, and those were the moments you were truest to yourself. And when you are ready and you have filled your inner well, you can engage with the world from a much deeper and even more compassionate place.
You build up a strength, for you have fortified your reservoir, and you are coming from a much more deeper, grounded place.
And it is your grounding into your spiritual self that anchors you more completely and gives you a sense of inner sanctity and fullness - and this is where your wisdom emerges.
For you are not ‘out there’, but rather ‘in here,’ and when you go to look out there, you are doing so from a deep, connected place when you are spiritually connected. You have stepped out of mundanity, drunk from the waters of Source, and opened up your spiritual eyes.

Spirituality is Natural
We have an innate spiritual nature, and spirituality is natural and allows you to come back to your natural default, not an artificial or robotic one. You step out of your outer identity and all the fake parts of you that you created to survive amongst others, something you learned and built over time, and you become more of the real inner you. And you know that. It's that real you I am talking to, that is right there inside of you... You fill up that well and restore yourself back to you.
Spirituality Connects You to Your Authenticity
When we connect with our inner selves and own our spirituality, we develop a greater sense of self-awareness, acceptance and authenticity.
True spirituality is not about getting lost out there somewhere but it rather brings you back to you, your inner core, and your personal authenticity. That real you, that spark within you.
For some it is a matter for tweaking, and for others it is a complete overhaul - as you realize how much it has been taken away from you, or you pushed it back in order to survive and protect yourself, or as a result of your extreme sensitivity to the energy of it all.

Wholeness, Harmony & Synchronisation
When you are in your spiritual self, you feel it in your heart and you sense it in your soul. Your body and energy system becomes more attuned and you are more in a state of natural wholeness.
You move through the world with a greater sense of harmony and synchronisation.
You move through the world with a greater sense of harmony and synchronisation.
Greater Peace & Calm
By cultivating a sense of mindfulness, presence and spirituality in your daily life, or as much as possible for you, you are able to more easily let go of stress and anxiety and live in the present moment. In the now. That is where you are connected to everything. That is your zero point. Or at least the potential is there for it all to be reduced or minimized. For when you are in your spiritual self, you are more centered and in harmony with it all. You naturally have a greater sense of peace and inner calm, even amidst the chaos and any uncertainty. You are less likely to move into ego, fear or react. We have emotions, we have a mind, it's not easy being a spiritual soul in a human body.
You navigate through difficult times with greater resilience and deeper strength when you are spiritually connected, because there is a sense of purpose and connection in your life. By tapping into your inner resources and sense of connection to something greater than yourself, that you understand you are very much an intrinsic part of, you are better able to cope, to weather the storms of life and emerge stronger and more resilient on the other side.
The perfect analogy for this is when you remain focused on the eye of the storm during a hurricane, so envision that now, quite literally. You are centered right there in the middle, you are solid, grounded, anchored to the light, staying stoic, strong, even if you have some fear, and you ride the storm more calmly, rather than being swayed by the wilds of the wind. And we can apply this to may things in our lives. We've all had moments when we did stay centered, and we've had moments where we didn't. So think back to times when that was the case for you, and see how much better it was when you were able to be grounded in it all.
But having said all this, again there is no perfect here, so you can also be very spiritual, totally spiritual and a complete, total mess, and you can go off the deep end too. (lol) And that’s ok. It’s normal. It's a part and parcel of it all. It really depends on you and your will, intention, where you are in your journey and what is coming at you and for you.

Compassion, Empathy & Connection
Whereas for some people, empathy and compassion comes as a result of being more spiritual, or trying to, for others who are already that, which is probably you, spirituality moves you deeper into your own compassion and empathy for yourself and your life and circumstances, which in return enriches your empathy for others in the world, but in a way that is more healthy and whole.
They say that being spiritual is a selfless act, but actually it is about being very much in your true self, so you are ‘self – full’, rather than 'self-less' - and in return that helps fill others.
For it's about filling yourself up first. And this is a big lesson to learn.
For instead of racing out to help others mindlessly, stretching yourself thin, giving out your energy here, there and everywhere, and leaving yourself in a pile of poop, which I've done countless times, and I know you have to. Instead of that, you come back to YOU and filleth YOUR cup, that big, beautiful, bountiful sacred well of yours, your own source of nourishment and source energy, and rather than allowing everyone to drink from your well, you keep that water flowing… you allow whatever needs to take place to take place. You step back, or, you step in where needed. Or you just ‘be’ there, from that ‘grounded place’ of discernment, and allow a natural wisdom to unfold.
And this might surprise you, but the difference is, you are just there, you are present, but filled. You are a large, sturdy, filled up tank, with energy, light and connection as your greatest resource. Because once you've had a taste of that, you are going to want more. You feel the biggest, brightest, best you, when you are filled up in this way. And you notice the difference with others too, which is a problem especially for empaths and sensitive souls.
Your grounded spiritual presence, when spiritually connected, attuned and aligned, is solid, complete, resilient and strong. It is interconnected and whole. And it keeps on filling up. For you understand that the Divine is limitless, and you are of that same Divine essence. By being spiritually you, you also radiate that Divine essence and walk through life, with it.

Spirituality Raises Your Vibration & Helps Heal You
When you are connected to your spiritual self, your vibration is naturally higher and more in resonance with your higher default. You come into balance with your Divine energy signature, and given the time of Great Awakening we are in, this rises over time.
We are all here to heal and grow, so your spiritual connection will deepen and lengthen this colossal task. You will be more likely to more consciously move forward in your own spiritual evolution, because you are willing to go within.
You work on your healing, attune to your karma, nurture your inner child, and step into your power because you turned your spiritual light on.
You more effectively do the higher work your soul came here to do.

Spirituality Enhances Your Intuition & Self Discovery
Spirituality allows you to naturally tune into yourself and more easily develop and enhance your intuition.
When you connect with and explore your inner self, you develop your self awareness. You are more attuned to your thoughts, feelings, and sensations, and can make more conscious choices that align with your values and purpose. You can also confront your fears, wounds and limitations in a more enlightened way, which in return can lead to greater clarity, confidence and healing.
It better helps you to grapple with and navigate doubts and uncertainties, challenges and transitions and draw meaning to life experiences. It can also help give you a sense of direction and focus.
As soon as you connect with your spiritual side, you have the capability to expand that. Your intuition will emerge from your inner most depths, because you have gone there. So this is about asking yourself, and going with in and being willing to go there, for where it will take you is far wider and expanse, than you could ever imagine. That is the message in all of this.
So think of your well as your innermost resource, and your intuition like a spark of light within it – a spark that has the power to light up the whole well, if not world, and turn it from mirky to clear, from the foggy, to the unknown, to the seen.
And where before you could not see the wood for the trees, you can now see the tunnel of light and your own inner reflection. And within that light of your higher consciousness, answers and guidance you can seek.

Meaning, Purpose & Restored Faith
Spiritual connection can be a great source of guidance, inspiration and fulfillment, providing you with more of a grounded sense of direction and also meaning for your life.
“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being.”
- C.G. Jung
You gain a greater sense of clarity and understanding about your place in the world and what your true purpose may be. This can help you find greater fulfillment and satisfaction in your everyday life. When your faith is restored and unwavering, this carries you through, as you know that there is a higher reason and power in all of this.
You sense a connection to something far greater to yourself, and this connection can bring about a deep sense of peace and calm in your life, knowing that you are indeed a part of it, even though you questioned that before. When you feel connected to a higher power, you are better able to navigate the ups and downs of life, as I've mentioned, and it will help you find solace and comfort in difficult times. You will find deeper meaning and develop a natural acceptance of the world and all your life experiences, the energy you've had to face, the people and situations, which makes your voyage through life both richer and more easier in a way. Even though it's so darn difficult too!
It has the power to empower you and keep you in alignment. And that's what you want. You really want to be in alignment.
Even when it gets tough, you feel like you are going crazy or in the pits of despair, and yes, for some of us, that can all happen in one day or month or year, or more, overall you cope better as a result, and persevere through it all, knowing that you are not just a product of mere chance with no meaning. You rather see and sense deep meaning interweaved throughout the very fine tapestry of your life, and the world at large, including your interactions with people and the various energies moving through it all. And that sense of meaning helps save, soothe and direct you.

ConclusionSpirituality is a personal and individual experience, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. It's important to listen to your own inner wisdom on your spiritual path and be open to playing with that and changing where necessary, according to your own personal needs.
To many people, it is a forgotten art, but if you take the time to explore it, and even a moment to connect, you will see that it is inherent, intrinsic, hidden and interwoven in your bones, flesh and more mysterious etherical self. It's in your DNA, so it's about remembering who you are. When you are not in this spiritual state, you will miss it deeply and all you need to do is go on a little side journey to find your way back home again. When you live in alignment with their true nature, you are being from the inside out rather than the outside in, and THAT is how the transformation takes place! In future episodes, I will talk more about various aspects of spirituality, consciousness, connection to Spirit and how you can reconnect with self, as well as and various forms of spiritual practice, and what gets in the way of connecting to your spiritual self and moving forward on your path. |
